"I Love Us"

I loved this years Hallmark commercials for Valentine's Day. Instead of the same old "I love you," the commercials said "I Love Us." It made me stop and think, "yes, that is what we should say sixteen years later." I do love "Us." I love everything about "Us." There are too many things to list over the past sixteen years, but i know i have been truly blessed!

HAPPY "I LOVE YOU" DAY!!!!

Jake Longson and Krew Christensen at there Kindergarten Valentine's Day party.

Nick, Max, Krew, Jake, Daniel and Hanna.

Mrs. Kraft, Krew's Kindergarten teacher. She is such a great teacher. We fill so blessed for Krewzer this year!!

Avery and Jadyn Junior at her third grade Valentine's Party.

Avery, Kendall and Katie. Mrs. Nalley is in the background on the left. Talk about amazing teachers!! What a personality match for Avery this year. :) She absolutely loves her!!

Avery's Valentines Box that she made with the help of Grandpa Marvin. Grandpa built it and Avery decorated it! What a great combo!!

Krewzer's Valentine's Box. Krew had had enough of watching me help Avery and decided it was time for me to help him make one of his own. He woke up one morning laser focused on getting this project done. "A Devil"..........he thought it was cool. That's all that matters. :)

He thought it was cool learning how to do rub on decals. He called them Tatoo's for his devil.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Avery had to make a Valentines box that had a simple machine on it for her third grade class party. Thanks to her Grandpa Marvin she had a darling little box with a lever and a pulley. :)

Avery and I spent night after night mod podging each side with some fun picture. We had such a fun time decorating her box.

We added the balls on the bottom to make it look a little more feminine.

We decided to decorate this box so she could always use it in her room. It is very hard to throw away "Grandpa Projects."

So happy about her box. Here is Avery at her third grade party. Now her box is all full of Valentines and candy. Yeah!

I Love You......Christensen Crepe's!!! (titled by Krewzer)

The infamous recipe! I'm pretty sure it's very standard, nevertheless, it is VERY YUMMY!

All the fixings! Blender (I am pretty partial to my VitaMix), peanut butter and syrup.

The kids and I went on-line and found this awesome crepe maker at Tibos.com. This is what we bought Cord this past Christmas. He is the main "Crepe Chef." The crepes are a bit smaller then his original pans, but the trade-off was that they all get "First Crepe." This crepe maker really pumps them out and comes in handy when we are making crepes for all the kids friends till the weeeeee hours of the night.

The boys in action during the early morning hours before school! This is definitely their favorite breakfast!!

Scripture reading tonight........

I had no idea reading "the fruit of thy loins" could be so funny. We must have read it maybe 50 times tonight. It felt like it. Each child tried reading their verses without laughing but i guess when you are under age 15 that sounds pretty funny!! Anyhow, trying to keep scripture reading a positive thing, I just took deep breathes and decided that this was not worth getting upset about. Hey, at least we were actually getting our reading in. :) We are head strong about getting past 2Nephi. Really, we would actually like to achieve the goal to get this book read as a family. Cord and I might be the only ones actually learning something, but I am hoping that isn't the case.

After failing many attempts to get the Book of Mormon read as a family (and mastering 1Nephi along the way), I would say we definitely show courage as a family to continue this goal of ours. Hopefully, we are done reading "the fruit of thy loins" for awhile. :)

Happy February!!

My bulbs have all bloomed and my kitchen sink is so fun to look at. I love spending time in my kitchen, especially when it is filled with flowers of any kind (zinna's are my favorite). Although spending time in my fun kitchen can not always be a good thing. It tends to add more miles to my workouts.

Time to pull out our Valentines decorations. Krew, Avery and I made these silly XOXO's last year when budgets were tighter and we were really wanting something new for the season. They were super fun to make with them. We love mod-podge projects! We also did a picture frame. We love our silly seasonal decorations!!

Well it looks like the groundhog did not see his shadow and spring is coming. I might be the only one bummed about this but i was really hoping my winter playlist would bring a little more snow to the mountains. Looks like it is groomers from here on out. Good bye to the powder Gods. Skiing powder is one of those things that are hard to stop wanting once you fall in love with each other. So greatful to be part of the Christensen clan who are all in love with Powder. It was fun to see my Avery fall in love with it this season.

Klondike is tonight. Cord and Conner are headed up after school. They were lucky to get a sheep herders trailer and a heater. Outdoor camping, especially in February, is not really Cord's thing, but he is a trooper to go with Conner tonight! I'm pretty sure that neither of them really want to go. Hopefully, it will be a lot funner than it sounds! :)

Avery informed me that it is finally her turn to have a "Late-Night" with her friends. So, we have five girls coming after school till nine to hang out. Should be fun. They have all discovered Taylor Swift and how much fun it is to dance in your room with your CD player. So, it will be fun to watch them tonight. Hopefully, they will let me take some photos of all their fun.

Well, if spring is coming then I'll just go........plant some more bulbs, go get a tan, increase my exercise (swimsuit season is on it's way!), finish my spring cleaning and get ready to start working out in the yard (which i love!!).

Just made my winter's playlist. YEAH! I hope my friends enjoy it as much as I enjoy theirs. It is a tribute to the snow gods. I would really like some more snow before spring. All those families that are back east getting hit with so much winter don't realize how lucky they really are. They are just lacking a few good mountains. Hopefully, this playlist will keep some snow on the ground for us to get through President's Day and Spring Break. We need a few more ski days before my tulips can come.

My January goals are almost complete. Have just a couple more days to add another post.

Went to Stake Women's Conference today. The ladies who spoke were amazing!! I learned that "Laughter" is one of the most important things to keep the fire burning in a marriage. I learned how to make a yummy potpie and cute Valentine's suckers. I learned a "Heavenly Home" is a home full of music and love. I learned that my Journey to Becoming Fit and Fabulous is far from over with their formulations. We were also treated to a yummy lunch. It was wonderful way to spend a cold January morning rejuvenating my soul!

Blue Note Cafe with the family today watching Brock Jones sing and play his guitar was definitely a highlight of the day. Completely inspired Conner to start playing his guitar again and is very excited to hopefully start singing with School of Rock soon!! YIPPEE!!!!!

Off to "Date Night" with my wonderful hubby who I just caught sneaking my road bike upstairs to set it up for me to do some indoor cycling over the next couple months. That is definitely a post to come. Everyone needs to know a bit about Cord and how lucky I am. (is lucky the word?....maybe spoiled)
